Holiday Closing: Deer Park will be closed Friday, December 24th and reopen Monday, December 27. We will also be closed Friday, December 31 and reopen Monday, January 3rd, 2011.

Stack-O-Matic Update

If you subscribe to our inventory report, you know that we have run out of many of the "Stack-O-Matic" turntables. We are about to receive our final shipment of Stackers, and we have made the decision to give them a "rest" in 2011. While popular, they have been eclipsed in sales by many newer models, particularly in the "Analog to Digital" category. We will slowly wind these down to make room for newer models, and work on even better replacements. If you are considering purchasing any of these turntables, please do so quickly, as our inventory is quickly being depleted. As always, check out our inventory feed for the latest information.

Crosley Revolution Now Available in Colors!

We are pleased to announce we have obtained limited-edition Crosley Revolution Turntables, available in Red, Ivory and (our favorite) Mint. These turntables will arrive at Deer Park on Friday, December 10 will be able to ship that day. We only have a few hundred of each turntable, and these are strictly a limited-edition item. Please add them to your inventory and stores immediately.

Our website has been updated with the colors, UPC codes and product information. All shipping, dimension and cost data remains the same as the original black units. We will have Excel "flat-files" available by Friday if you would like to upload them via FTP. Obtain your "flat-file' by emailing sales@deerparkdist.com.

Deer Park Warranties for Holiday Purchases

Again this year, we are extending the terms of our return policies to cover any product purchased after November 1, 2010. We will accept returns for either repair or replacement, as well as refund credit, for any product purchased between November 1, 2010 and December 31, 2010 until January 31, 2011. This extension allows you to offer buyers the benefit of an "Holiday Return Policy". The policy extension is intended to provide your customers peace-of-mind in the event their holiday gifts arrive defective, damaged or they are returned by the recipient. It is also intended to encourage early holiday sales, so please advertise this with your customers. This "Holiday Extension" applies to both the "No Hassle" Deer Park warranty, as well as the non-defective or non-damaged product policy. As a reminder, all Crosley products sold by Deer Park are covered by Crosley's one-year manufacturers warranty as well.

Inventory Report Moving to Twice per Week

Our weekly inventory email, available to all dealers by request, is the best source for holiday stock condition. Next week, the inventory report will begin to be sent twice per week, to all subscribing dealers. If you do not already subscribe, consider subscribing now by emailing inventory@deerparkdist.com.

A number of our dealers sell either on Amazon.com or eBay, and both sites now closely monitor seller performance for product availability. If you choose to sell on either of these marketplaces, we suggest you remove any product we designate "Low Inventory" to prevent angry customers and negative feedback. We do our best to maintain adequate stock on over 100 Crosley items, but we can't sell what we don't have. Even if you chose to only enroll for the holiday sales period, you will get the most up-to-date information available. There are also a number of older products which have been discontinued and will be "Out of Stock" soon, so please subscribe to insure you have the most up to date inventory information.

Warranty Notes for Shipments to Canada

As a reminder, UPS does not provide call-tag service for international shipments (this includes Canada). Therefore, the "No-Hassle" Deer Park warranty is not available outside of the United States. Deer Park will repair or exchange defective items shipped internationally for a period of 30 days after receipt, but will not pay any related shipping costs for the item's return to the Deer Park warehouse or back to the consumer or dealer. Please ensure your own return policies and warranty terms are in alignment with this policy.

Crosley Revolution Availability Update

We are expecting a shipment of the highly-anticipated Crosley Revolution Turntables later this month. As of today, we expect them to be in our warehouse on or around September 25th. We have received a number of pre-orders for the turntable and will accept pre-orders at a discounted price. A minimum quantity of four turntables must be purchased to qualify for the reduced cost. 3 new Audiophile Radios from Crosley

Three new items appeared in the "Tabletop Radio's" category in the new dealer price list released last week, and they all deserve your attention. Crosley has expanded its Audiophile series to include three new offerings. They are as follows:

CR3005A-BK Duet Radio (Available now): This radio combines the great looks of a Crosley Solo with the addition of an alarm clock function with battery backup.

CR3010A-BK iDuet Radio (Available in early November): This radio has all of the features of the CR3005A-BK Duet Radio and also integrates an iPod dock on the top of the radio.

CR3009A-BK iSolo Radio (Available late November): This radio upgrades the existing Solo Radio with an integrated iPod dock on the top of the unit (no alarm clock). It should arrive just in time for holiday sales.

The audiophile series of radios rival the sound quality of much more expensive and larger units. Consider offering them in a "Combo" with the new Crosley Revolution Turntable to maximize your sales.

CR16: Still Available!

How to Order from Deer Park Distributors

We receive a number of questions regularly at the office, and one of the most common is, how should I place my orders? We are very flexible on how we can receive orders, but all orders must meet a minimum standard for information and quality. Here is a quick update on the best way to make sure you receive your orders quickly and accurately:

1. Deer Park does not accept phone orders. We require either an email or fax. All email orders should be routed to orders@deerparkdist.com. Fax orders should be sent to 618-427-3088. Email is preferred over fax.

2. Your email or fax should contain the FULL shipping address (with phone number) of the recipient, as well as the product code, color and quantity for order. All orders will be routed via UPS Ground service, unless specified otherwise in the order.

3. You are not required to utilize a PO, however they are helpful for tracking purposes and we will use the name of the recipient as a PO if none is attached.

4. If you maintain more than one credit card on file, you should specify which credit card to charge for product and shipping charges.

5. Attachments are fine, as long as they are PDF, MS Word or MS Excel. Text files are fine, as long as the information is easily extracted.

6. Multiple addresses and PO's in the same order are fine, as long as they are separated by different attachments or clearly defined within the text of the email.

7. You will receive an email with a daily sales total and tracking to the address you have provided us for those items. Sales receipts and tracking are usually sent by 5:00pm CST on the day of the order.

Jukebox Custom Colors: Available!

On our price list, under the "Full Size Jukebox" category, you will find an option for a "Custom Color". We paint a few dozen full-size jukeboxes per year, and would like to explain the program in depth.

The minimum charge for a "Custom" paint job is $450.00, but can vary considerably based upon the color and number of paints used. Our most popular color is the red and white "Classic Coca-Cola" combination, followed closely by black as well as the orange and black for Harley Davidson. We also have painted jukeboxes to match classic cars (we can match any paint code) and also can match most custom order. The average "custom" jukebox takes about 30 days to complete for delivery.

Tech Corner: 78 RPM Needles

We get quite a few questions about needle selection, especially for "vintage" 78 RPM records. A common mistake is trying to use an LP stylus made for a micro groove on a vintage 78 or any 78 for that matter. The LP stylus is much narrower (about 1/4 the size) and thus the tip will ride down in the very bottom of the groove - missing most of the music and resulting in the "tinny" sound so frequently associated with 78 RPM records. The LP stylus, quite literally, misses most of the music encoded on the sides of the groove.

The old 78 RPM recording is then blamed in the mistaken belief it's too worn to be playable. Aside from that, there's no better way to ruin a vintage 78 groove than to use an LP stylus on a vintage cut groove. In the case of any record, but especially the vintage 78's where there a wide variety of groove cuts to begin with, proper stylus selection is everything.

Our 78 RPM needles are sized correctly to maximize the music from your 78 RPM records. Make sure your customer who asks about 78 RPM compatibility knows that a 78 RPM needle is required, not just suggested.

Crosley Revolution: Coming this Summer

Each week, we field a number of questions from dealers on when the "portable" turntable from Crosley is due. The "Crosley Revolution" Turntable will likely hit our shelves late this summer. We appreciate this high level of interest, and anticipate some strong sales when the product arrives.

Father's Day Promotion for CR249 Turntables

The Father's Day holiday has become one of the strongest seasonal selling events for turntables in recent years. To lure shoppers this year, we are offering the following promotion to all of our dealers:

We will offer a Free NP4 Needle with each Crosley CR249 (Black and Tan) Keepsake Turntable sold between Monday May 10 and Friday, June 18. The NP4 Needle will be packaged within each unit and will not result in additional shipping charges to the dealer.

Please merchandise this offer immediately, as it begins in less than a week and has the potential to boost your Father's Day holiday sales substantially. The Crosley NP4 Needle is a $14.95 value to each customer and having a spare needle is always appreciated by the consumer. The CR249 Keepsake is one of our best selling models and should provide a nice opportunity to score some additional sales in May and June.

Record Store Day 2010

In 2010, Deer Park and Crosley teamed together to become a national sponsor of Record Store Day. This is the one day each year that all of the independent record stores come together with artists and fans to celebrate music on vinyl. Special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are offered exclusively for the day. Hundreds of artists in the United States and in various countries across the globe make special appearances and performances. Festivities include performances, cook-outs, meet & greets with artists, parades, DJs spinning records and on and on. Record Store Day is celebrated the third Saturday every April.

CR40 Mini-Turntable: Don't forget the Black!

A quick check of a few of our dealers earlier this month found a number of websites not listing the new CR40-BK. The CR40 continues to move well this time of year and should be a great Father's Day item in April and May. Don't leave these units out of your sales mix. This attractively priced turntable has also been well accepted in retail locations, and is now being stocked in numerous record stores.

We sold over 250 CR40-BK in their first full month of availability. Don't miss the opportunity to increase your new product visibility and sales. It is a Deer Park exclusive without competition from the "Big Box" stores!

CR248-OA: The Oak Songwriter is discontinued. The CR247-OA Composer is still available in Oak, as is the new CR2405A-OA Director. The Songwriter is still available in Cherry and Paprika colors.

Record Changers:

CR86-PA: The Bandmaster is discontinued. The Mission or Arlington Stackers are good substitute products.

CR85-OA: The CR85 Collegiate Turntable is discontinued in Oak. It is still available in Walnut finish only.

CR83-CH: The CR83-CH Arlington is discontinued. The Oak and Paprika finishes are still available. The best substitute is the CR72-CH Mission.

Entertainment Centers:

CR73-3: Both the Oak and Paprika Turntables have been discontinued. We no longer offer a CD-Changer model due to evolving technology and the lack of availability for key components.

CR49-TW: The popular CR49 Traveler Turntable is now only available in the Tan finish. The Tweed has been discontinued.

WR18: We have sold out of our long-running WR-18 jukeboxes. The CR-16 is the best substitute product. Along with the newer table top iJuke models, these items will fill-in any gaps when they arrive this summer.

Tabletop Radios:

CR31-PA: We no longer have stock on the CR31-PA Companion Radio, but will receive the more popular CR31-WA later this summer.

CR8002A-TW: The Nomad Radios are gone. We are currently working on a replacement product.

CR612-PI: The CR612 Corsair Radio has been discontinued in Hot Pink. All other colors are still available.

Clocks:

We have sold out of all Crosley clocks, and the category has been discontinued.

Telephones:

CR57-IV and CR58-IV: The Dreyfuss Desk and Wall Phones have been discontinued in the Ivory finish. There are multiple substitute products in other colors. We will no longer stock any style phone in the Ivory color.

CR59-YE: The Princess Phone has been discontinued in Yellow. Pink is still available.

CR91: The Country Kitchen Phone has been discontinued. The CR92 is a great substitute product.

A "New" Category has Arrived on our Price List

We have standardized our product categories to a simpler classification format . You will notice a new "Analog to Digital" category which combines the former "CD Recorder" and "USB Turntables" categories.

With the emergence of products such as the Memory Master II and Crosley Tech Series, the lines between product categories became blurred by new technology. The Memory Master II combines CD recording capability with USB output for mp3 recording. The Tech Series turntables offer USB and SD encoding capabilities, making them a difficult fit for either category.

Additionally, we eliminated our "Tech Series" category. The popular CR6007A Tech Series turntable now resides in the "Analog to Digital" category and the CR6005 may be found in the "Entertainment Centers" category.

Crosley CR40 Mini Turntables are Available!

The wait is over. We now have the the popular CR40 Mini Turntable available in black, exclusively from Deer Park. We have just received a shipment of the new CR40-BK Mini Turntables at our warehouse. We are also fully stock with the CR40-RE Mini Turntable, which was very popular during both the 2008 and 2009 holiday selling seasons. New Dealer Pricelists Coming March 1, 2010!

On Monday, March 1, 2010, your March edition of the Deer Park Dealer Newsletter will arrive with an updated dealer price list! This price list will include new products as well as price changes since our last revision in November 2009. The new pricing will go in to effect on Monday, March 8, 2010, giving you time to update your retail pricing. Any order received at Deer Park prior to Monday, March 8, 2010 will be billed at current pricing.

We will also have an updated FTP file available and our website will be loaded with the new product images and descriptions to assist you with adding the new products. We will have new colors available of existing products, as well as new products added to the Deer Park inventory.

There will be multiple revisions to the current dealer pricelist, so please plan to update your websites and cost basis in early March. While a few items have increased in cost, some prices will go even lower than last year!

Crosley 1201A Jukebox Fast Features!

The Crosley CR1201A is one of our most popular items. Since this product is priced squarely between the Crosley CR12-2 and CR12-DI, it has a tendency to "get lost in the middle" in terms of available features. Below we have included some of the most frequently overlooked features of this jukebox:

Please ensure your listings and advertising mentions these important features:

10 Disc CD Changer: Integrated nicely behind the "selector panel" on the front of the jukebox. This is our only jukebox with a CD Changer.

AM/FM Radio: Frequently overlooked as a feature, and an external antenna is included with each jukebox.

iPod dock: The iPod dock on the CR1201A is integrated neatly on the upper crown of the jukebox. It is nearly impossible to see when an iPod is not in place, and works well to select songs by hand.

Integrated Remote: We frequently don't see this mentioned in many online listings, but the fully integrated remote allows for complete functionality of the CD Changer, iPod, AM/FM radio, volume control and function mode.

External Speaker Jacks: Each CR1201A Jukebox has external speaker clips that allow the consumer to attach their own external speakers. Users can then choose between the external speakers only or a combination of the two sets!

Stand Included with Purchase: The CR1201A includes a stand. Unlike the CR12-2, the CR1201A has a stand included with each purchase. The stand is sent in a separate box and elevates the jukebox to the "classic" height. The stand also integrates a storage drawer, pefectly sized for a CD collection.

Authentic Bubble Tubes and Neon Lighting: It is difficult to convey in a written description the warmth of the colors produced by this jukebox. For those consumers looking for a "classic" jukebox without spending well over $5,000.00, the CR1201A is a great match.

Crosley Technical File Available

The most common question we receive has to do with needle compatbility for record players. Crosley turntables utilize one of four needles if playing LPs and 45's, and one of three different models is suggested to fully appreciate your 78 RPM collection.

We also receive many questions regarding the presence of speaker outputs, "Aux" inputs and RCA jacks. We have just completed a comprehensive technical review of each product and have created a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that contains all of the technical specifcations for each of our products. In addition to the turntable specifications and needle compatibility, you will also be able to reference telephone and jukebox features.

UPS Super Saturday Shipping

This busy season we have a unique opportunity to expand your holiday shipping window and save last-minute shoppers a little stress and money. To fully take advantage of the week prior to Christmas, we have scheduled a special UPS pick-up on Saturday, December 19th. This Saturday pick-up will be for air shipments and 3-day select boxes. These packages will be guaranteed delivery before Christmas.

We have arranged for UPS to pick up 3-Day Select and UPS Air shipments from Deer Park on Saturday, December 19th. This means that any order we receive after noon CST on Friday, December 18th and prior to 1:00pm CST on Saturday can be upgraded to 3-day select delivery and still arrive by Wednesday, December 23rd. This pick-up will allow your customers to "gain" a shipping day, and will provide an opportunity to attract last-minute-shoppers. Normal UPS 3-day select and Air shipment charges will apply. Saturday pick-up will only apply to upgraded packages. Ground shipments will not be included in the Saturday UPS pick-up.

Holiday Warranty and Return Period Updated

Each year to encourage customers to give Crosley items as gifts and shop online without worry, we extend our Return Period and "No Hassle" Warranty period. This will allow customers ample time to return damaged, defective, or unwanted holiday gifts. For Crosley items purchased in the months of November and December 2009, we will accept returns or warranty claims through January 29, 2010.

One of the new items we will offer to our dealer network is the "Authentic Popcorn Factory". This was a prominent fixture in many kitchens across America in the 1970's and it has been reproduced in exacting detail. Crosley Memory Master II Almost Here!

We are pleased to announce the "Top of the Line" Crosley Memory Master II will be ready to ship Tuesday, October 20th. The current inventory of the original Memory Master should last a few more weeks and will ultimately be replaced by the Memory Master II. The MMII has upgraded features including one-touch recording, the ability to split tracks, the choice of either USB encoding or CD recording, and the option of either Black or Paprika color.

With Crosley's Memory Master II - the sleek, redesigned version of the popular Memory Master CD recorder -- simply put on your LP or pop in a cassette, load a blank CD and press "record." With its handsome cabinet, this system harkens back to the golden days while still nodding to technology of the 21st century. Users will appreciate its three speeds (33-1/3, 45 and 78 rpm) so they can play and record their entire collection. The Memory Master II is USB enabled for connection to PC and Mac and includes a software suite for ripping and editing audio content. We are pleased to announce they are enroute to our warehouse and will be available soon. The CR40 Mini-Turntable will be available to ship on September 1st. The CR40 Mini-Turntable was one of our best selling turntables during the holiday period in 2008, and has an "ultra-portable" design from Crosley that is the perfect size for many consumers. One of the most frequently asked questions we get is whether or not we release our "Top 5" or "Top 10" items in sales volume. The answer is a qualified yes. We'll be happy to provide information regarding Top 10 in overall volume, Top 10 in Units, Top 10 in revenue, etc. because it provides you an opportunity to see what is moving on the web and in stores and how to best optimize your sites, auctions or PPC campaigns.
